Dr Jennifer Hauptman (she/her)
Dr Hauptman is a consultant psychiatrist. She studied medicine at Monash University, and completed fellowship training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in Melbourne. In addition to her private practice, she is a consultant psychiatrist at Monash Health within the Wellness and Recovery Eating Disorders Service. Dr Hauptman is also a member of the Freudian School of Melbourne.
In addition to psychoanalysis, Dr Hauptman has an academic interests in the philosophy of psychiatry and narrative hermeneutics. She presented at the 2024 AAPP annual meeting in New York, and completed her Masters of Psychiatry thesis (Narrative Theory and Psychiatric Medicine) under the supervision of A/Prof Chris Watkin and A/Prof Paul Cammell.
Dr Hauptman is currently accepting new patients for psychoanalysis and general psychiatric care.
